Lancashire Women beat Nottinghamshire Women by 46 runs on Sunday, at Carnforth Cricket Club.
The Red Rose won the toss and elected to bat setting the visitors a total of 241 after their 50 overs, losing six wickets. Openers Eve Jones and Emma Lamb recorded a 51-run partnership before Jones was bowled on 25.
Georgie Boyce then came in and narrowly missed out on a half-century before she was bowled on 48.
Ellie Threlkeld was Lancashire's top scorer with an impressive 72 off 70 balls, helping set a tough target for Nottinghamshire to chase.
Jenny Gunn was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors with two wickets for 39 runs.
Notts replied with a total of 195 but it wasn’t enough to win the game. Opening batter Sonia Odedra top scored with a total of 67 runs off 108 balls, but was let down by most of the top order who each failed to score more than 17.
Olivia Thomas (1/31), who was making her Lancashire debut at the age of just 15, picked up her first wicket of England international Jenny Gunn for 2.
Notts did apply some pressure later down the order, when Teresa Graves and Odedra putting on a 50-run partnership, but Graves was later caught on 31 by Laura Marshall off the bowling of Cross.
Kate Cross impressed with the ball for Lancashire, with three wickets for 34 runs.
Lancashire’s next fixture is the Roses derby, when they travel to Yorkshire on May 19.
