Lavelle secures Second XI draw with Leicestershire
Lancashire's Second XI friendly with Leicestershire ended drawn as the Red Rose saw out the final day with the bat at Northern CC.
The visitors resumed with a lead of 248 with eight wickets down, however added a further 56 without the loss of further wickets.
They declared 204-8 with Nick Welch reaching an unbeaten century before the declaration arrived.
With Lancashire requiring 305 for victory on the final day, a draw looked their most likely outcome.
At 35-4, Leicestershire were pushing for victory but George Lavelle anchored the Red Rose innings well.
Lavelle, who was supported by Stephen Parry (19) and Liam Hurt (22), ended the day with an unbeaten 33 from 132 balls - an excellent rear guard action to secure the draw.
