Lightning suffer second abandonment
No play possible due to rain in the Vitality Blast match against Derbyshire Falcons
Lancashire Lightning's Vitality Blast match at Derbyshire has been abandoned without a ball bowled.
After persistent rain throughout yesterday evening and today, the umpires decided their was no prospects of play and called the match off at half past three.
It is Lancashire's second abandonment of the campaign after a No Result at Leicestershire last week.
Glen Chapple's men remain at the top of the North Group table and are still the only unbeaten team in the north, with three wins to back up the two matches lost to the weather.
The Lightning are back in action on Friday evening, taking on Durham at Emirates Riverside, before returning home a day later to face Nottinghamshire Outlaws at Emirates Old Trafford.
