Parkinson, Faulkner receive Lancashire caps

Matt Parkinson and James Faulkner were awarded their Lancashire caps before Friday’s washed out Roses fixture against Yorkshire Vikings at Emirates Old Trafford.
The pair were presented with their caps by Chairman, David Hodgkiss OBE, in recognition of their continued contribution to the Red Rose.
Leg-spinner Parkinson is enjoying another successful year and is currently the leading wicket-taker in the Vitality Blast North Group with 16 wickets, despite only playing in six matches due to three abandonments.
It comes he after finished as the leading wicket-taker in last year’s competition and the 22-year-old recently became the quickest Lancashire bowler to reach 50 T20 wickets for the county, beating Faulkner by three matches to the milestone.
He has also taken 52 wickets in First-Class cricket and took a first career ten-wicket haul in last month’s Specsavers County Championship win against Sussex, including 6/23 in the first innings.
Australian all-rounder Faulkner is enjoying his third spell at the Club he helped to Vitality Blast success in 2015 and reached Finals Day with again last year.
He is Lancashire’s seventh-highest wicket-taker in T20 history, with 52 scalps in 35 matches, and has added 399 runs with a best of 73 against Northants Steelbacks in 2015.
