Second day washed out at Leicestershire
Heavy morning rain and persistent showers throughout the day put paid to any hopes of play on Day Two at the Fischer County Ground
No play was possible on Day Two of the Specsavers County Championship match between Leicestershire and Lancashire at the Fischer County Ground.
Heavy rain overnight and into the morning meant any prospects of play before lunch were wiped out, with little chance of it ever looking likely.
There was a brief interlude in which the groundstaff were able to begin mopping up the considerable amount of water on the outfield, with the umpires planning an inspection for 2pm.
But the rain returned soon after and any slim hopes of play went with it, with play called off for the day shortly after.
Lancashire will resume Day Three on 2/1 after bowling the hosts out for 155 on the first day.
