Second XI fightback on Day Three against Durham
Jones and Lavelle hit 50s
George Lavelle hit an unbeaten 92 as Lancashire fought back with the bat on Day Three of their Second XI friendly against Durham at Chester Boughton Hall.
Following a complete washout the previous day, Durham resumed on their Day One total of 288-4.
James Anderson completed another nine overs and picked up a wicket to finish with figures of 2-70 from 29 overs.
Anderson was out-performed with the ball by young Lancashire spinner Jack Morley, who claimed 4-60 as Durham eventually declared on 409-7.
The Red Rose lost both Owais Shah and George Balderson cheaply before Lavelle joined opener Rob Jones at the crease.
The pair both passed half-centuries as they added 120 together, Jones eventually dismissed LBW for 68.
Lavelle closed the day with a century in sight, unbeaten on 92 from 170 balls, with Sam Perry also 34 not out.
Lancashire will resume the final day 211-3, still trailing by 198 first-innings runs.
