One week to go to the biggest family day of the summer

Trafford Live family festival is just one week away!

Lancashire Cricket and Trafford Council are hosting the family bonanza within the grounds of the Town Hall on Talbot Road and the Foster’s Fan Village at Emirates Old Trafford on Sunday 21 July.

Visitors to the family event, which starts from 11am, can experience a host of events, activities and displays designed to showcase Trafford’s sports, history and culture. As well as explosive T20 entertainment in the Vitality Blast when Lancashire Lightning take on Durham from 2.30pm.

The Emirates Old Trafford Foster’s Fan Village will be free to enter, with T20 match tickets starting from just £8 for adults and £1 for kids where Trafford residents can cheer on Lancashire Lightning, in their first home Vitality Blast clash of the summer.

Daniel Gidney, Chief Executive at Lancashire Cricket Club, said: “We are thrilled to be teaming up with Trafford Council to get involved with Trafford Live once again. We have a fantastic relationship with the council and we’re really looking forward to being part of this long-standing community event for a second year running.

“It is a brilliant event for the people of Trafford to attend, there was a fantastic turn out last summer and we hope to welcome even more local residents through the gates of Emirates Old Trafford this year, to watch the likes of Liam Livingstone, Glenn Maxwell and James Faulkner in action for Lancashire Lightning’s T20 fixture against Durham.”

Cllr Andrew Western Leader of Trafford Council, added: “Trafford is home to some of the best sport, culture and leisure attractions in the world as well as boasting fantastic grass roots and community organisations. At Trafford Live we bring all of these together in a fun filled celebration and we were delighted to join with Lancashire Cricket Club last year to make the event even better!

“This summer we plan to grow the event and make it bigger and better. We are really pleased that Lancashire Cricket have agreed to join us once more. We’ve already enjoyed an amazing summer of sport with several Cricket World Cup games being hosted here at Trafford.”

Trafford Live includes a number of zones. These include sport, armed Forces, family entertainment, arts and crafts, nature trails, food and drink and Lego Land.
