Tough start for Second XI against Northants
Fluck top scores but batsmen struggle
Lancashire were bowled out for 184 on a rain affected opening day of their Second XI Championship match against Northamptonshire at Liverpool CC.
In difficult batting conditions, Lancashire lost skipper Brooke Guest (7) and Stephen Parry (2) to the new ball.
A 50 partnership between Sam Perry (31) and George Lavelle (30) steadied the ship, but after both departed Lancashire continued to lose regular wickets.
Only Ed Fluck provided any resistance from the middle order top scoring with 76 from 106 balls, hitting seven fours and a six.
He was the final wicket to fall as Lancashire were dismissed for 184.
At the close of play, Northamptonshire had reached 50-1, Parry with the only wicket. The visitors still trail by 134 runs.
