Victory for Lancashire XI out in Mumbai
Brooke Guest stars in 50-over win
A Lancashire XI defeated a combined Notts and Derbyshire side by six wickets in a 50-over friendly match out in Mumbai, as preparations for the new season continue.
First team players Steven Croft, Josh Bohannon, Rob Jones, Danny Lamb and Brooke Guest were joined by JJ Fielding, George Bell, Robert Lord, Finlo Smith and Praharsh Parikh from the Lancashire Cricket Academy.
After winning the toss and electing to field at the impressive DY Patil Stadium, Lancashire's bowlers shared the wickets around, with openers Lamb (2/66) and Lord (1/61) bowling steadily.
Bohannon claimed three for 37 from his six overs while the experienced Croft took one for 62 - a local player also took three wickets for the Red Rose as the Notts/Derby XI were dismissed for 328.
In response Bohannon (56) and the youngster Fielding (67) got Lancashire off to the perfect start with a half century each, Bohannon reaching his from just 43 balls and including nine fours and a six.
Jones, batting at number three, hit a solid 46 but it was Guest who would star for the Red Rose, striking an unbeaten 93 from 66 deliveries, hitting nine fours and two sixes.
Bell chipped in with a handy 24, before Croft (28*) joined Guest and the pair saw Lancashire home to a six wicket win, with two overs to spare in India.
