Vitality Blast one to watch: Saqib Mahmood
The fast bowler was Lancashire's leading wicket-taker in the Royal London One-Day Cup 2019
Following a sensational Royal London One-Day Cup campaign earlier in the season, all eyes will be on Saqib Mahmood in this year’s Vitality Blast.
The 22-year-old may not have featured for Lightning last year but could certainly prove to be an asset this season upon his return from injury.
Already in 2019, the Lancashire youth product has demonstrated his importance to the team in One-Day Cup.
He became the first bowler in the club's history to take five wickets in successive List A matches and has contributed to his 40 wickets in both formats this season.
At youth level, the seamer was part of the Lancashire side that won the Royal London One-Day Cup and shared the two-day Championship with Surrey in 2014.
Mahmood signed his first pro-contract with club in 2015, before making his debut for the club the same year, appearing three times in the Vitality Blast.
The following season he made two more appearances at T20 level, before making his County Championship and List A debut.
The fast bowler has also featured for England under-19s at the 2016 One-Day World Cup, where he took 13 wickets in six matches.
