Vitality Blast opener abandoned
Both sides take a point apiece in Leicester
Lancashire Lightning's opening Vitality Blast 2019 fixture at Leicestershire Foxes suffered an abandonment without a ball bowled.
Inclement weather from around 6:15pm onwards saw the match abandoned after two inspections from the umpires.
A delayed toss had taken place beneath the dark skies, with Foxes skipper Colin Ackermann electing to bowl.
But the rain returned soon after and persisted throughout the evening, leaving the umpires with no choice but to call proceedings off shortly after 8pm.
Both teams take one point each and Glen Chapple's side return to action on Sunday 21 July on Durham in their first home match of this season's Blast.
