Wickets tumble on Day Two of Second XI clash
Bowlers shine on Day Two at Northern
A further 13 wickets fell on Day Two of Lancashire's Second XI friendly with Leicestershire at Northern CC, setting up an exciting final day with all three results still possible.
Lancashire resumed on 65-5, trailing by 159 runs and George Balderson (25) and Liam Hurt (42) batted positively to move the Red Rose beyond three figures.
With their stand of 70 eventually broken, Lancashire lost their remaining wickets quickly to end the first innings 134 all out, trailing Leicestershire's 224 by 90 runs.
Lancashire's bowlers responded well, Hurt (3-31) and Balderson (3-37) doing the early damage as the visitors were reduced to 88-6.
A run out and a wicket for George Burrows (1-32) followed, with only Nick Welch showing resistance, to close the day unbeaten on 71.
Leicestershire were 158-8 at stumps, holding a second innings lead of 248 runs heading into the third and final day.
