Work to do for Second XI at Notts
Lancashire trail by 311 runs following Day One
Lancashire's Second XI endured a tough day in the field against Nottinghamshire who declared 325-6, on the opening day of their Championship match.
The Red Rose then had a tricky session to survive at the close, which they did to reach end 14 without loss at Notts Sports Club.
The wickets were shared around the Lancs bowling attack, with Chris Sanders (2-106) and Ed Moulton (2-81) claiming two each.
Rob Lord (1-27) and Danny Lamb (1-34) also grabbed a wicket apiece, but Liam Patterson-White's 124 set Notts up for a big first innings total.
Patterson-White was well supported by Ben Slater (56) and Mitchell Todd (67) as the home side reached 325-6 before declaring.
Openers Owais Shah (3*) and Taylor Cornall (9*) battled through a nine-over spell to ensure that Lancashire return tomorrow with all 10 first innings wickets still in hand.
