Age Group players benefit from Onions masterclass
In the latest session for Lancashire's aspiring young players, Graham Onions delivered a bowling masterclass
Graham Onions this week delivered a bowling masterclass to Lancashire’s Age Group sides as the Club continues to engage with its emerging talent.
Over 60 young bowlers were in attendance to listen to the former England international discuss the basics of bowling and how to improve during lockdown.
Onions, who is a Level 4 qualified coach and works year-round with Lancashire’s Academy side, ran through a series of drills designed for young bowlers to work on their skills at home during the ongoing period of lockdown.
Those in attendances also had the opportunity to ask questions and tap into the knowledge of one of county cricket’s most successful bowlers of the modern era.
The masterclass follows the weekly fitness sessions hosted by Keaton Jennings and attended by a number of Lancashire players, including Rob Jones and Emma Lamb, as well as last week’s batting session run by Performance Director, Mark Chilton.
“It was great to have so many enthusiastic youngsters involved who are desperate to improve their skills, despite being unable to go out and play competitively at the moment,” Onions said.
“I hope the session proved useful and everyone who attended took something away that they can continue to work on until cricket returns.”
