Alex Davies named in The Cricketer T20 Team of the Year
The wicketkeeper had another impressive year for Lancashire Lightning
Alex Davies has been named in The Cricketer Magazine's Vitality Blast 2020 Team of the Year.
The 26-year-old has enjoyed another strong season in the game's shortest format and was an ever-present in Lancashire's run to the semi-final stage.
It is a competition Davies loves, having been named Man of the Match in the 2015 final, and this season was no different.
Davies finished with 299 runs from ten innings, averaging a shade under 30 at a strike rate of 121.54 and three half-centuries.
His highest score came in the televised match against Derbyshire Falcons at Emerald Headingley, scoring 82 off 56 balls in a close win.
With 12 dismissals (6 caught, 6 stumped) Davies finishes as the highest among his fellow wicket-keepers despite not keeping in every game, with nearest contenders Ben Foakes and Chris Cooke three behind.
He also added the key run-outs of Adam Lyth and Will Fraine during the televised Vitality Blast win over Yorkshire at Emirates Old Trafford.
The Cricketer Vitality Blast Team of the Year: Daniel Bell-Drummond (Kent), Luke Wright (Sussex), Ben Duckett (Notts), Will Jacks (Surrey), Iain Cockbain (Gloucestershire), Alex Davies (Lancashire), Ryan Higgins (Gloucestershire), George Garton (Sussex), Tom Smith (Gloucestershire), Daniel Moriarty (Surrey), Jake Ball (Notts)
Memberships for Vitality Blast 2021 are now on sale from £35, allowing access to all Lancashire Lightning home games next season, including the Game of Roses fixture against Yorkshire Vikings.
