Anderson and Buttler awarded central contracts for 2020/21 season
The record-breaking seamer secures a Test contract, while Buttler obtains a Test and limited-overs deal
Lancashire duo James Anderson and Jos Buttler have both been awarded ECB central contracts for the 2020/21 season.
Anderson became the first fast bowler in the history of the game to reach 600 Test wickets during England's last outing against Pakistan and has once again been awarded a Test contract.
Buttler, who notched his second Test century in the same match, has been contracted for both Test and white ball cricket for the next 12 months.
In addition to this, Lancashire quick Saqib Mahmood has retained his Pace Bowling Developmental Contract for the coming year.
Under the structure, players in both formats receive a ‘ranking’ based on their performances on the pitch, as well as a number of other factors, including off-field contribution, fielding and fitness. Those rankings then correlate with the level of remuneration.
