Chapple and Chilton confirmed for Cricket Expo at Emirates Old Trafford

Lancashire coaching pair to deliver masterclasses

Lancashire Head Coach Glen Chapple and Assistant Head Coach Mark Chilton will deliver coaching masterclasses at next month’s Cricket Expo at Emirates Old Trafford.

The pair, who masterminded Lancashire’s promotion back to Division One of the Specsavers County Championship last summer, will share their coaching secrets and best practice with the Expo audience during individual sessions in the Trafford Cricket Centre, Lancashire’s indoor training base.

Chapple who claimed 985 First-Class wickets for the Red Rose before turning Head Coach in 2017, will give a masterclass in seam bowling.

While Chilton, who struck 21 First-Class centuries for Lancashire, will offer an insight into being a batsman at the top level and offer invaluable coaching tips to those within the game.

The duo will take a 45-minute session each, with former Lancashire off-spinner and current Academy Director Gary Yates providing his skills to a spin bowling masterclass.

Expo attendees will also hear from Performance Manager Karl Krikken, who will be delivering a wicket-keeping masterclass - all sessions will be run by Coach Development Manager, Lee Conroy.

Warren Hegg, Head of Cricket Business for Lancashire Cricket said: “To have such insight from the top level of the game is rare and with the Cricket Expo being completely free, this is an event that cannot be missed by anybody involved with recreational cricket.

“Not only will there be masterclasses taking place across the weekend, the whole of Emirates Old Trafford will provide a platform for activities, informative workshops, and suppliers exhibiting the latest products and solutions to assist in the running of a cricket club.

“Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from cricket legends David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd and Michael Vaughan, who have been confirmed as keynote speakers.

“We still have several exciting announcements to come very soon as we approach the Cricket Expo on Saturday 29 February and Sunday 1 March.”
