Domestic and International Cricket - Lancashire Cricket Update
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has today confirmed a further delay to the start of the professional domestic cricket season, with no domestic cricket to be played before August 1.
The specifics of the season remain subject to ongoing advice from UK Government and health experts, but the ambition remains to host domestic men's and women's cricket across England and Wales later this summer.
The good news is that it’s increasingly likely that cricket will be played at Emirates Old Trafford later this summer and we will keep you up to date with all the latest information as and when we receive it from the ECB.
Domestic and international ticket buyers (including hospitality and hotel)
If you are a domestic (County Championship, Royal London Cup, Vitality Blast) or international ticket holder (including hospitality or you have booked a Hotel room) you do not need to do anything at this stage. We are working with the ECB and all other counties to determine how best to reschedule domestic and international fixtures in 2020 when it is safe to do so. Please await further advice from the Club and the ECB as to rescheduling plans and how this impacts ticket holders.
Once the ECB and the counties have further clarity on what the 2020 season will look like, and depending on when domestic and international fixtures can be rescheduled for later this summer, ticket holders will be contacted by the Club in the event that supporters cannot attend the fixture on a new date. In this case, further information will be communicated in regards to refunds.
Lancashire Cricket Member
If you’re a Member you do not need to do anything at this stage either. Please bear with us during this time until we have a clearer understanding on which games can be played and when. Over the past week, Members will have received information (as part of the Annual Accounts and Spin Magazine) regarding the Club’s new ‘Loyal Member’ initiative. Further information can be found here.
As soon as we have further clarity from the ECB on what the season this summer will look like, we will be in touch all Members, supporters and ticket buyers (including hospitality and hotel bookers) to confirm the dates of the domestic and international fixtures to be played at Emirates Old Trafford.
Thank you for your support, patience and understanding during these challenging times.
