George Bell scores century in England friendly
The batsman chalked up 117 runs in a North vs South contest in Loughborough last week
Lancashire youngster George Bell notched an impressive century in the Young Lions' three-day, intra-squad friendly at Loughborough late last week.
Bell, a second year on the Lancashire Academy, scored 117 off 227 balls to help the North to a remarkable comeback against the South.
Facing a first innings deficit of 91, Bell combined with Durham's Luke Doneathy to put on a mammoth 195-run stand after coming together at 86/5.
It ultimately wouldn't prove enough as the South won by three wickets in a tight contest, but the right-hander showed his quality on the highest stage.
His watchful innings spanned nearly six hours and contained 11x4s and 3x6s.
Bell was joined by fellow batsman JJ Fielding for the contest, which ran from Friday to Sunday, and both will again be involved in two upcoming white ball fixtures this weekend.
