Lancashire Rewind: vs Warwickshire B&H Cup Final
Re-live Lancashire's 1984 Benson & Hedges Cup final against Warwickshire at Lord's
This weekend should have seen Lancashire commence their third Specsavers County Championship match of the season against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
With cricket being suspended until at least 1 July following the ECB's announcement today, the fixture will not be taking place as scheduled.
But the Lancashire Rewind feature will continue to run throughout the early months of the cricket season, giving Lancashire Members and supporters to re-live successes from years past.
This week's comes from Lord's and the 1984 Benson & Hedges Cup final, Lancashire's first visit since the 1976 Gillette Cup defeat to Northamptonshire.
With John Abrahams at the helm, the Red Rose elected to bowl first and had one hand on the trophy after bowling Warwickshire out for 139.
Paul Allott led the charge as Warwickshire collapsed from a position of strength at 102/2, the now Director of Cricket returning figures of 3/15 from his 8.4 overs.
And despite the early wicket of Graeme Fowler and a double strike at 70/2, David Hughes and a 20-year-old Neil Fairbrother guided Lancashire to their first One-Day Cup win since 1975.
