Live blog: Lancashire vs Derbyshire, Day Two
Updates from Chester Boughton Hall on the second day of the friendly between Lancashire and Derbyshire
Welcome to the live blog for Day Two of Lancashire's two-day, behind-closed-doors friendly against Derbyshire at Chester Boughton Hall.
Live updates from today's play will appear below.
7:10pm: Close on the final day of Lancashire's pre-season, reaching 143/6.
All eyes now turn to Worcester as we kick off the 2020 season on Saturday!
5:05pm: Tea in Cheshire at 70/2 with Balderson (28*) & Croft (38*) at the crease.
Balderson's battled through at the top of the order and it reaped rewards in the final over of the session with two well-timed boundaries through the off side.
Croft has looked equally proficient on the off-side, latching onto anything outside off and punishing it through backward square.
One session to go in this 2020 pre-season.
3:20pm: Jones is the next man to go, the ball slightly stopping in the pitch and a leading edge reaches a tumbling Billy Godleman at mid-on.
Steven Croft, who missed the Yorkshire friendly with some calf stiffness, is heading out to the middle at 6/2.
3:05pm: Wicket for Derbyshire as Ben Aitchison finds a bit of nibble off the surface and Davies edges to du Plooy at second slip.
Rob Jones is in at three.
2:50pm: We are ready to resume the second session on Day Two as Alex Davies and George Balderson stride to the crease.
Keaton Jennings, who has enjoyed good time at the crease over all three games, has made way to allow others some middle practice ahead of Saturday's Bob Willis Trophy opener.
In theory, Lancashire need 145 to *win*, but the result is negligible in this practice environment.
2:10pm: Lunch comes with the score on 70/1 for Derbyshire, with du Plooy on 46 and Critchley 7.
A 40-minute break until Lancashire strap the pads on and return to bat for the last two sessions - 60 overs - of this match.
1:50pm: Not much to speak of by way of action in the last half hour or so.
Left-arm spinner Tom Hartley hasn't been far away from a wicket and nearly had du Plooy caught in the outfield, the ball just evading a backpedalling George Burrows.
du Plooy has 37*, Critchley 6*, the score is 60/1 and there are four overs until lunch.
1:10pm: First wicket of the day goes to young right-arm seamer Ed Moulton. The Academy product trapped Luis Reece, LBW playing forward for 16.
The score is now 45/1 with Leus du Plooy (28*) joined by Matt Critchley (0*).
12:00pm: The players emerge to begin Day Two. Derbyshire are back out to bat for the first 30 overs before the Red Rose bat for the final two sessions of the day.
Liam Hurt starts with the ball in hand. Luis Reece and Leus du Plooy are batting for the visitors.
11:30am: It's overcast but dry ahead of the second day here in Cheshire.
The cutting wind from yesterday has subsided, making it slightly more pleasant than yesterday.
Players from both sides are out warming up ahead of the start at midday.
