Mark Chilton runs Age Group batting masterclass
Lancashire Cricket's Performance Director hosted a masterclass for the Club's Age Group sides earlier this week
Performance Director and Assistant Coach, Mark Chilton, has hosted a series of batting masterclasses this week with the Club's Age Group Players.
Following on from the fitness classes with Keaton Jennings last week, Chilton has started a new series of sessions discussing different skill sets of the game.
Assisted by Women & Girl's Manager, Jen Barden, Chilton took questions from across the Club's Age Group sides about the specifics of batting.
Over 50 participants from both the boys and girls sides took part in the sessions, which the 43-year-old declared a huge success.
It also follows the Club's use of the Hive online platform, where coaches have been regularly in touch with advice and workout routines for all of the Academy groups.
"Following the weekly fitness sessions Keaton has been running, we have been exploring other ways to try and enhance the offering to the Age Group sides, who are missing out on vital contact time with coaches at the moment," Chilton explained.
"The masterclasses this week have given all the players an opportunity to ask questions about specifics around their own game and how they can best address these under the current constraints. We have also been able to communicate some of the fundamentals of the game that can be practised in their own homes.
"It has been a learning process as we go but the feedback has been excellent and we are looking to run further sessions in the coming weeks – we have Graham Onions with us next week to help run the fast bowling session."
