Red Rose close in on virtual victory
Another strong day leaves Lancashire five wickets away from an opening win against Kent
A string of solid contributions from the whole XI has left Lancashire five wickets from a virtual Specsavers County Championship opening round win over Kent at Emirates Old Trafford.
At the request of Lancashire's supporters over on Twitter, the Red Rose declared with four-and-a-half sessions left to leave the opposition requiring 410 to win.
Keaton Jennings was the backbone of Lancashire's 233/7 declared, making his second half-century of the fixture, with other players making more than useful knocks around him.
In reply, Kent dropped to 131/5 at the close of play and needing a bit of a miracle to salvage anything from the final day.
The wickets were shared around equally with all five bowlers - James Anderson, Graham Onions, Tom Bailey, Matt Parkinson and Josh Bohannon - taking a wicket apiece.
As he has done from the previous two days, BBC Radio Manchester's Scott Read brings a light-hearted round-up of the day.
