Saqib Mahmood called up for Pakistan IT20s
The pace bowler is in England's main squad for three matches at Emirates Old Trafford, with Liam Livingstone among the reserves
Saqib Mahmood has been named in England's squad for the upcoming three-match Vitality IT20 series against Pakistan at Emirates Old Trafford.
The pace bowler, who featured in all three Royal London ODIs against Ireland, is among the 14 names in contention for the series.
Fellow Lancashire team mate Liam Livingstone is again named as a reserve player, while Jos Buttler is not considered for selection as the Test players are rested following the end of the three-Test series.
The three-match series will be played behind closed doors, in a bio-secure environment at Emirates Old Trafford.
Commenting on the selection of the squad, National Selector Ed Smith, said: “In this crowded international summer, players who are currently in the Test match bio-secure bubble for the Pakistan Test series are not included in this squad. (The IT20s begin three days after the scheduled last day of the final Test).
"We want to give multi-format players some opportunity to rest and refresh, while still selecting strong squads for every series. We will announce the squad for the Australia T20 series at a later date.”
