Saqib Mahmood set for PSL stint
The paceman replaces Liam Livingstone in Peshawar Zalmi's side for the Pakistan Super League playoffs
Saqib Mahmood could feature in the final stages of the Pakistan Super League after being selected as a replacement overseas play for Peshawar Zalmi.
Mahmood replaces Liam Livingstone following his call into England's limited-overs tour to South Africa, which begins later this month.
The 23-year-old was a regular feature in England's white ball squads over the winter before returning to Emirates Old Trafford to help Lancashire reach the Vitality Blast semi-finals.
The group stages of the 2020 PSL started before the COVID-19 pandemic struck and there are only a handful of games remaining.
Zalmi face Lahore Qalanders on Saturday 14 November in the first eliminator, with the winner going on to the second eliminator a day later to face the loser of Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans. The victor from that game then advances to the final.
Livingstone scored 108 in seven group stage innings with a best of 54 not out.
Among Mahmood's team mates in Peshawar will be ex-Red Rose batsman Faf du Plessis, Carlos Brathwaite and Wahab Riaz.
