Updates: Intra-squad friendly Day Two

Updates: Intra-squad friendly Day Two

Updates from the second day of Lancashire's intra-squad friendly at Chester Boughton Hall

Welcome to updates from Day Two of Lancashire's intra-squad friendly.

Read the report and view the scorecard from Day One.

We will have a small number of updates on this page throughout the day.

5:50pm: That's the game as Team B finish on 173/7 with George's Bell and Burrows batting stoically for the final 10 overs or so.

The victory target was 232, meaning the game finishes in a draw, but the result was not the motive for this fixture and Glen Chapple's squad have enjoyed an excellent run out over the last two days.

The batsmen have spent time at the crease and bowlers got miles in their legs ahead of their next assignment on Friday, a two-day friendly against Yorkshire at Emerald Headingley.

Read the report and view the scorecard from Day Two.

4:55pm: Jennings departs for an excellent 94, chipping a simple catch to point off Liam Hurt.

It was an excellent knock from the opener, timing the ball impeccably throughout.

157/6 under what's turned into thick, cloudy and slightly gloomy conditions as George Bell joins Graham Onions at the crease.

4:40pm: Keaton Jennings is going very well here, having reached 84 not out. In addition to his knock yesterday evening, that makes it 120 runs and counting without dismissal.

He has former Durham team-mate Graham Onions for company at 149/5 with 17 overs left.

3:30pm: Jack Morley strikes twice before tea to leave Team B on 90/4. The left-arm spinner bowled Luke Wood and then Tom Hartley turned a ball off his hip to short leg.

Keaton Jennings remains at the crease and brought up his half-century just before the interval.

3:05pm: That's an incredibly unfortunate way to be dismissed for George Lavelle (20). Jennings drills a straight drive back at Danny Lamb and the bowler tips it onto the stumps, with the wicketkeeper stranded backing up.

81/2 the score as winter signing Luke Wood comes to the crease.

3:00pm: Just the one wicket has fallen so far, George Balderson slicing to point off the bowling of Liam Hurt.

Keaton Jennings (36*) and George Lavelle (14*) are now at the crease, the left-hander picking up where he left off yesterday.

1:10pm: Keaton Jennings and George Balderson again open up for Team B, with Tom Bailey and Liam Hurt taking the ball once again.

12:30pm: Lunch on the second day and Team A advanced their score to 161/2 thanks to some big hitting from Alex Davies and Josh Bohannon.

Davies finished on 73 not out, while Bohannon struck a quickfire 39 including a towering six over the road and into the houses opposite the ground.

Team B will come back out after the break to bat the final 60 overs.

12:00pm: The first wicket comes right on the stroke of midday as Owais Shah nicks a cover drive behind for 43, with George Lavelle taking an excellent low catch to his left.

Josh Bohannon strides out to join Alex Davies (36*) with 10 overs left until the first session ends.

11:30am: No wickets in the first hour of play today as Alex Davies (25*) & Owais Shah (31*) knuckle down and look well set at the crease, reaching 56/0.

Davies did survive a strong LBW appeal from George Balderson a short while ago, but the umpire was not convinced.

10:30am: The players emerge, the umpires are in situ and we're ready for the start of the second day.

Team A, who batted 60 overs in the first two sessions yesterday, are back out for the first 30 overs. Team B will then return to the crease for the second and third sessions to complete the match.

Alex Davies and Owais Shah again open up, with George Burrows and Graham Onions set to take the opening overs.

10:00am: The players are beginning to go through their pre-match routines ahead of the second day here in Chester.

The whole squad have received their pre-day talk from stand-in Head Coach, Mark Chilton, who's looking after the side while Glen Chapple is with England as their Bowling Coach for the West Indies series.
