Watch Lancashire Cricket's Annual General Meeting
For those Members who were unable to join the meeting last night, Lancashire Cricket’s Annual General Meeting is available to view below.
The meeting started with a tribute by the Club’s President Sir Howard Bernstein to David Hodgkiss OBE after his sad passing earlier this year and was followed by a moment of silence to remember him and others connected to Lancashire Cricket who have passed away in the last 18 months. Acting Chairman Les Platts then commenced his statement reflecting on the last two years and the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic is currently presenting.
The new David Hodgkiss OBE award was announced and then presented for the first time, virtually, to Lancashire’s Head Groundsman Matt Merchant after his exceptional efforts this summer at Emirates Old Trafford.
Later in the AGM, Members' pre-submitted questions were answered by the Club’s Board and Executive Team, whilst Rachel Downey was officially appointed on to the Board. Also confirmed was the news that Geoffrey Shindler is to step down after 14 years of outstanding service. Geoffrey joined the old Committee in 2006, before subsequently retaining his position on the newly formed Board in 2013 and made several invaluable contributions in securing the future of Lancashire Cricket.
Head Coach Glen Chapple and Lancashire batsman Keaton Jennings concluded the AGM with a Q&A session reflecting on the Club’s 2020 campaign.
