Day Four washout thwarts Lancashire's Second XI
Final day washout prevents Lancashire's push for victory at Emirates Old Trafford
Lancashire's Second XI were once again thwarted by rain in their efforts to push for victory against Middlesex at Emirates Old Trafford.
After George Balderson's century helped the Red Rose put on 375 in their first innings, seamers Jack Blatherwick (5/40) and George Burrows (4/69) forced the visitors to follow-on as they were dismissed for 222.
Coming back out to bat on Day Three, Middlesex made it through to the close 103-1 (Burrows 1/15) and knowing that the forecast meant that little play was going to be likely on the final day.
No play at all was possible and the two teams shared the points in the Second XI Championship.
