George Bell top scores for Lancashire Second XI
George Bell top scored with 78 as Lancashire Second XI reached 283-8 at close of play on Day 1 against Warwickshire.
The hosts won the toss and sent Lancashire into bat at the Edgbaston Community Sports Ground. After the early loss of Taylor Cornall (4) and Sam Perry (14), the Red Rose recovered to 95-2.
Lancashire then lost two further quick wickets with the score 95-4. Opening batsman Cian Dickinson was the third wicket to fall as he made 46 containing four boundaries.
Bell then came together with the lower middle order and vital contributions from Luke Young (30), Tom Aspinwall (23) and Matthew Hurst (20) helped Lancashire reach 283-8. Bell’s 78 came off 131 balls including 11 fours.
Bulpitt (4-48) was the pick of the Warwickshire bowlers, who also picked up the important wicket of Bell.
