Jack Morley spins Second XI to victory over Durham
Left arm spin duo Jack Morley and Xander Selby spun Lancashire Second XI to a 72 run victory on day three against Durham at Southport and Birkdale CC.
Morley took excellent figures of 6-54 nicely supported by Selby 3-34 as Lancashire bowled Durham out for 146 in the pursuit of chasing of 219 to win.
Resuming the morning on 78-6, the hosts managed to post 126 with Kurt Watson top scoring with 40. Harry Singh was left unbeaten on 24 as Drissell (4-28) and Taylor-Clarke (2-7) cleaned up the Lancashire tail collapsing from 117-6 to 126 all out.
Despite Stuart Poynter top scoring with 46, Morley and Selby were too good for the Durham batsman on a low scoring wicket.
Openers McKinney and Crawshaw got the visitors of to a steady start reaching 29-0 in seven overs but the introduction of Morley changed the game as they soon fell to 36-3 with Luke Young (1-26) also picking up a wicket.
Poynter along with Bell (23) and Bushnell (13) gave Durham gave the North East side a chance back in the game as they recovered to 112-4.
But once again, Morley and Selby ripped through the lower order bowling Durham out for 146 as Lancashire Second XI finished their 2021 summer off with a 72 run win.
