Kate Cross and Keaton Jennings join Lancashire delegation to the Expo 2020 Dubai

Kate Cross and Keaton Jennings join Lancashire delegation to the Expo 2020 Dubai

The Lancashire and England Cricket duo of Kate Cross and Keaton Jennings will join a travelling delegation to the UAE this week to activate at the Expo 2020 Dubai, during the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

The Expo 2020 Dubai, postponed from last year due to COVID-19, is a celebration of the UAE by supporting the growth of tourism with the aim of enhancing the region’s international reputation as a location to do business.

Whilst at the Expo over the course of two days, Cross and Jennings will be running a range of workshops including cricket masterclasses and Q&A sessions – hosted by former Lancashire and England wicketkeeper, Warren Hegg.

The trip also coincides with the start of the ICC T20 World Cup, which takes place in the UAE with England’s opening game taking place at the Dubai Cricket Stadium on Saturday 23 October against West Indies. The Club will be supporting and following the progress of Lancashire players Liam Livingstone and Jos Buttler, who are both in England’s 15-man squad, which is competing in the tournament.

During the ICC T20 World Cup, Lancashire Cricket will be entertaining Club guests at three games, which are being hosted at the Dubai International Stadium.

Jennings, who is set to run a community session in Dubai on the trip, will also be part of a meet and greet session at Emirates’ office in Dubai – Lancashire Cricket’s Principle Partner since 2013 - when staff will have an opportunity to take their photograph with the Lancashire and England batsman and the T20 World Cup trophy.

Daniel Gidney, Lancashire Cricket’s Chief Executive, said: “I am delighted that Kate and Keaton will be joining us out in Dubai over the next week as Lancashire Cricket activates at the 2020 Expo Dubai.

“We see the chance to activate at the Expo and entertain guests at the ICC T20 World Cup as a huge opportunity to continue the Club’s commercial growth and development. I would also like to personally thank Emirates for all their help and support ahead of our trip, and we look forward to seeing them as part of our visit."

Boutros Boutros, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand said: “We’re eagerly looking forward to welcoming Lancashire Cricket to Dubai this week. We have a long-standing partnership with the Club which is something we’re proud of.

“To have them activating in the Emirates Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai is incredibly exciting and we can’t wait to show them what the region has to offer.

“We look forward to seeing Keaton and Kate, and the wider team, over the next few days and we hope they have an enjoyable week here in Dubai.”

Lancashire batsman Keaton Jennings said: “The Emirates Pavilion looks incredible, and we are really looking forward to getting out there to showcase Lancashire Cricket at the 2020 Expo Dubai.

“It is a brilliant chance for Kate and I to represent the Club, working alongside Emirates, and help to bring a little bit of the Red Rose to Dubai.”
