Better news, the sun is shining the covers are being taken off and the groundstaff have finished taking a rope around the outfield so we look ready to start in the next few minutes.
It looks like we may have a delayed start. The umpires are out in the middle assessing conditions. The wheeled covers are over the wicket but all the sheets have been removed. Once we get word from the umpires, we will update.
Lancashire need 129 more runs to record a third Championship victory when play resumes at Hove following yesterday’s brilliant assault of 73 by Alex Davies on the 253-run target.
It was a thrilling passage of play as Davies took on the Sussex attack in a century partnership with Keaton Jennings, breaking his bat when hitting Crocombe for six!
Keaton is still there on 35 and will have Saqib Mahmood with him after the fast bowler came in late yesterday as nightwatchman with Lancashire 124-2.
There are some threatening looking clouds around at present but fingers crossed we will get under way on time at 11am.
