Lancashire pair join Red Rose royalty in being awarded County Caps

Saqib Mahmood and Josh Bohannon were awarded their Lancashire County Caps at Emirates Old Trafford yesterday.

Mahmood and Bohannon, both 24, have progressed through the Lancashire Cricket Academy together and received their Caps from Director of Cricket Paul Allott ahead of the Vitality Blast match against Notts Outlaws.

Pace bowler Mahmood and all-rounder Bohannon have both become regulars in all formats for the Red Rose, with Mahmood also going on to represent England in limited overs cricket.

Speaking during the presentation, Allott said: "This is a tradition which has been taking place here since the 1860s with well over 200 players who have received their Lancashire County Cap.

"This is a sign that you have reached a level of performance and maturity which has been acknowledged by your fellow players, coaches and the Board.

"I would like to congratulate both Saqib and Josh on this achievement."
