Mahmood to remain with Lancashire Cricket during PSL
Lancashire Cricket can confirm that Saqib Mahmood will not return to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) when it resumes later this summer.
Mahmood enjoyed a successful spell with Peshawar Zalmi - taking a tournament high 12 wickets at an average of just 12 - before the competition was curtailed following a COVID-19 outbreak at the beginning of March.
The PSL is set to resume in June, however Mahmood will remain at Emirates Old Trafford with Lancashire set to be in both LV= County Championship and Vitality Blast action that month.
Mahmood said: "I enjoyed a fantastic experience with Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League earlier this year.
"However, I am now fully focused and committed to helping Lancashire Cricket achieve our goals this summer and I will be remaining at Emirates Old Trafford, with the lads, throughout a busy period of four-day and T20 cricket.
"I would like to thank everybody involved with Peshawar, and the PSL, for the opportunity and wish them the best of luck for the rest of the tournament. I would love to return to play there again in the future, when the timing is right."
