Second XI batsmen star for Lancashire on Day One at Notts
Taylor Cornall and George Lavelle both hit centuries as Lancashire dominated the opening day of their Second XI Championship clash
Bat dominated Day One of Lancashire's opening Second XI Championship fixture of the season away to Nottinghamshire at Lady Bay CC.
Taylor Cornall and George Lavelle both struck fine centuries with the pair putting on a mighty stand of 211 for the second wicket.
Against a Notts attack including the likes of Peter Trego, Zak Chappell and Matt Carter; Owais Shah and Cornall got Lancashire off to a solid start with an opening partnership of 62.
Shah fell just before lunch for 33, to bring together Cornall and Lavelle. The pair batted for most of the remaining day reaching their centuries just three overs apart in the evening session.
With the score on 273, Cornall departed - bowled Carter - for 112 from 223 balls, his knock including 12 fours and a six and coming just over a week after he struck a century against Yorkshire at Emerald Headingley for Leeds Bradford MCCU.
Lavelle finished the day unbeaten on 121 - accompanied by George Bell (21*) - and Lancashire will resume Day Two in a commanding position on 309-2.
