Second XI play out rain-interrupted draw with Leicestershire
Rain thwarts Twos again at Northern
Rob Jones' 136 was the highlight of Lancashire's draw with Leicestershire in the Second XI Championship.
In another rain affected fixture for the Seconds, the first day and a half were completely lost at Northern CC before Lancashire got the game underway with the bat.
Owais Shah (46), Jones and George Bell (40) were the main contributors as Lancashire declared 366-9 on Day Three, in the faint hope of forcing a result.
Time never looked like allowing a result and Leicestershire eventually declared on 221-6 on the final day. George Balderson (2/26) and Tom Hartley (2/35) the pick of the Red Rose attack.
There was time for Jones to reach 47 in the final session as both team's shook hands on a draw with the score 77-2.
