Josh Bohannon enjoyed a productive May with the bat; despite limited opportunities due to the weather, Bohannon impressed with a half-century during the draw against Glamorgan while also picking up the important wicket of the well-set Chris Cooke during his first over of the match.
Bohannon then had to wait until the final fixture of May to bat again, however he took his chance with aplomb hitting an excellent century against Yorkshire at Emirates Old Trafford. His unbeaten 127 was his second First-Class ton and first against Lancashire's Roses rivals which helped to set up a famous innings victory.
Saqib Mahmood's five-for on the final day of that Roses win was arguably the outstanding performance of the month. Mahmood took 5-47 to lead Lancashire to victory, which included two spectacular dismissals of Will Fraine and Steven Patterson on the final morning, sending stumps cartwheeling out of the ground on both occasions.
Mahmood claimed nine wickets during May at an average of just 18 - he has bowled with pace, bounce and has taken on a senior role in the Lancashire seam attack this summer, regularly bowling with the new ball alongside Tom Bailey.
Keaton Jennings' upsurge in form at the back end of April, continued into May, with a half-century against Glamorgan preceding his first hundred of the 2021 season against Yorkshire. His 114 set the platform for Lancashire to reach 509-9 dec and ensured that the Red Rose would only have to bat once at Emirates Old Trafford; completing victory by an innings and 79 runs on the final day.
In his three innings' during May, Jennings averaged 68.33 all whilst opening the batting in some truly testing English conditions.
