Yorkshire edge opening day of Second XI clash

An unbeaten 98 from Harry Alisson meant Yorkshire edged the opening day of the Second XI Roses clash at Chester Boughton Hall CC.
Allison will resume second day two runs short of his century after Tom Hartley (2-53) picked up a wicket of the final ball of the day with Yorkshire finishing on 324-7.
Earlier in the day, the visitors won the toss and elected to bat. Liam Hurt made the first breakthrough of the day dismissing Matthew Weston for 17.
Yash Vagadia joined James Wharton as the crease and the pair passed their 50 partnership taking the score to 109-1 before Vagadia (29) was caught by Jake Blatherwick off the bowling of George Burrows who picked up figures of (3-79).
Wharton passed his half century until Burrows picked up his second of the day dismissing the opener for 55. Which brought Allison to the crease who together with useful contributions from Ben Birkhead (35) and Matthew Pilans (40) saw Yorkshire reach 324-7.
