Yorkshire Second XI on top after two weather interrupted days
Report from Day Two of the Second XI Roses clash at Scarborough
Yorkshire's batsman enjoyed the better of a belated opening day of the Second XI Championship meeting with Lancashire at Scarborough.
With Day One a washout, play got underway at the second time of asking with Lancashire winning the toss and electing to bowl first.
Yorkshire openers Will Fraine (69) and James Wharton (81*) put on 111 for the first wicket before the former edged Jack Blatherwick (1/33) into the hands of Rob Jones at slip.
Another wicket soon followed when George Balderson (1/32) trapped Tom Loten LBW for 5 to leave the home side 120-2 just after the lunch break.
That would be the final breakthrough of the day; Jonathan Tattersall (45*) joining Wharton to guide the White Rose to 207-2 before the weather once again intervened with 75 overs bowled.
