Loughborough friendly ends drawn
Lancashire’s pre-season match against Loughborough ended in a draw after three days of cricket the Haslegrave Ground in Loughborough University.
Lancashire finished Day Three on 90-3 with Rob Jones unbeaten on 43. Luke Wood (39) added 61 for the fifth wicket with Jones before he was caught and bowled by Butchart.
This was after Loughborough resumed the third day on 174-4. George Balderson (2-26), Tom Hartley (2-40) and Danny Lamb (2-52) all took two wickets apiece to finish off the Loughborough innings as they were bowled out for 275 in response to Lancashire's 343-5.
Nightingale top scored for Loughborough with 98, he fell two runs short of his century before he was caught by Luke Wells off Tom Hartley. Opener MacGregor also passed a half century making 52.
Earlier in the game, Lancashire captain had Steven Croft won the toss and elected to bat. Josh Bohannon scored a century on the first day as Lancashire made a first innings total of 343-5 before declaring.
Bohannon made 108 from 158 balls including 17 fours before retiring. He made partnerships worth 148 for the third wicket with George Lavelle (68) and 89 for the second with Luke Wells (75) who both passed half centuries.
Wells wasted no time for his 75, the opener hit 14 fours and one six whilst only facing 77 balls.
There was a delayed start at the beginning of Day Two due to ice on the outfield, but once play resumed Steven Croft (41*) and George Bell (24*) were both unbeaten at the end of the Lancashire innings.
With the ball, Balderson, Jack Morley and Luke Wood (both 1-38) took four wickets as the Red Rose finished the evening sessions strongly.
