Middlesex Seconds on top after Day One at Northern

Middlesex opening batsmen Jack Davies hit an unbeaten century as the visitors finished Day One of the Second XI Championship fixture on 250/4 at Northern CC.

Davies finished on 103 not out which included eight fours and came off 242 balls.

He was well assisted by Joe Cracknell who made 83 and the pair shared a second wicket partnership of 147 after the early loss of Atharva Prasad (0) trapped leg before to Liam Hurt.

Tom Hartley was the man to break the partnership, he had Cracknell caught by Kurtis Watson, then the left arm spinner picked up his second wicket removing Nathan Fernandes for 6, leaving the visitors 159-3.

Hartley finished the day with figures off 2-69 from 27 overs.

Daniel O'Driscoll (25) was the only other Middlesex batsmen to fall as the wicket keeper batsmen was run out by Ben Walkden adding 60 with Davies. Danyaal Khalid (10*) will resume day two with Davies.
