Player Profile

George Balderson is a top order batsman and a right arm seamer who made his First-Class debut in the Bob Willis Trophy match against Leicestershire at the start of 2020.

The all-rounder, who admits he hasn't yet worked out what his stronger suit is, provides options all over the pitch and has been pushing for inclusion in the First XI for some time.

A regular for England under-19s, Balderson captained them in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup during the winter of 2019, after which Head Coach Jon Lewis spoke of his desire to see his skipper push for a regular spot in Lancashire's First XI.

The left handed all-rounder plays club cricket for Hyde Cricket Club, his local side, and put pen to paper on his first pro contract with Lancashire in 2018.

Balderson made four appearances for the Red Rose in the Second XI Championship in 2018 and featured in both games at the victorious Second XI T20 Finals Day.

He was then named in the England Young Lions squad for winter training camps in the UK and for the tour of Bangladesh, in which he opened the batting in both Test matches.

The 18 year-old has also captained the North in the ECB Super 4s, a competition for the most talented young players in the country.
