Player Profile
George Lavelle signed his first professional contract with Lancashire Cricket ahead of the 2019 campaign.
A wicket keeper batsman, Lavelle plays club cricket for Ormskirk CC and is a product of the Lancashire Cricket Academy.
During his time in the Academy, Lavelle was named Bunbury Player of the Tournament scoring 459 runs at an average of 98.80 with a high score of 98 against Surrey in the final, aligned with excellent performances behind the stumps.
He represented the ECB North of England and after a successful prestigious Bunbury Festival was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Lavelle has since travelled to Dubai with the Lancashire First Team on the 2018 pre-season tour and enjoyed a productive following summer with both the Academy and Second XI.
His good form earned him a call-up to the England U19s where he made his debut in the Test Match against South Africa at Scarborough in July.
The 18-year-old spent the winter in Australia playing Grade Cricket for North Sydney Cricket Club before returning to Lancashire in February to prepare for the 2019 season.
