Player Profile

Eve Jones grew up playing county age group and senior cricket for Shropshire between 2008 and 2011-she currently coaches cricket in local schools in Shropshire-before moving to play for Staffordshire in 2012 for five seasons.

The left handed opening batter joined Lancashire last season and her impact was immediate, named Lancashire Women’s Player of the Year as the Red Rose clinched the ‘double’ of 50-over and T20 title.

She was among the leading run scorers in both competitions, with her top score of 62 vital in the victory against Notts followed the next day by an invaluable unbeaten 35 to anchor the innings against Warwickshire to help clinch the Royal London Cup title.

In the NatWest competition Eve contributed vital runs at the top of the order throughout the T20 campaign with an unbeaten 46 against Somerset her top score as Lancashire stormed to the T20 crown winning seven of their eight matches.

Eve played for Loughborough Lightning in the first season of the Kia Super League, the Lightning making it Finals Day but losing out to Western Storm, before moving to join Lancashire Thunder last season.

Her winter of 2017/18 has been spent in New Zealand playing for Canterbury in the Women’s NZ One-Day League and Women’s T20 competition making 81 against Wellington in the 50-over competition, while she came agonisingly close to a century when making 98 against the touring West Indies Women’s team at Lincoln in March.
