Four new names enter Lancashire Cricket's Hall of Fame

George Duckworth, Carole Hodges, Neil Fairbrother and David Lloyd became the latest entrants into the Hall of Fame during a special evening at Emirates Old Trafford.

Hosted by former Lancashire and England fast bowler Paul Allott, it was an emotionally charged night as Hodges, Fairbrother and Lloyd – along with the family of the late Duckworth – celebrated their achievements with the Red Rose and accepted their commemorative Hall of Fame caps.

Lancashire's most successful wicketkeeper Duckworth was inducted first and, following a superb memoir from Club Historian Rev. Malcolm Lorimer, Duckworth's niece Ruth was invited onto stage to accept his Hall of Fame cap on behalf of the family.

A special moment followed, as Carole Hodges became the first female cricketer to be inducted into the Red Rose Hall of Fame. After receiving her cap to a rapturous applause, Hodges joined Allott on stage to speak candidly about her career, which spanned three decades from 1974 to 1993, and her pride at the growth of women's cricket in the last decade.

Next up it was Fairbrother, who scored over 30,000 runs for in all formats for the Club and is widely regarded as Lancashire's greatest ever One Day batter. The first man to play in ten Lord's One Day Cup finals, finishing on the winning side on seven occasions, became a worthy recipient of the Hall of Fame honour.

Finally, Lloyd or 'Bumble' as he is affectionally known was called up onto stage to become the 18th member of the Hall of Fame and the final entrant of the evening. Lloyd has served the Club as player, captain and Head Coach and looked visibly delighted to collect his commemorative cap in front of over 150 guests.

Lloyd and Fairbrother brought the evening to a close with a brilliant Q&A session with Allott - with tales from their time at the Club along with a couple of anecdotes from their respective careers as a commentator and an agent.
