5.00pm, CLOSE Day 3
Lancashire 1st inns 225-6 (69 overs) Hurst 35 Bailey 19
The weather has once again had the final say with play abandoned for the day.

4.30pm, RAIN DELAY
Lancashire 1st inns 225-6 (69 overs) Hurst 35 Bailey 19
More covers have been brought on as the rain intensifies, so there is little prospect of a resumption at present.

4.02pm, RAIN DELAY
Lancashire 1st inns 225-6 (69 overs) Hurst 35 Bailey 19
Tom Bailey is having no difficulty seeing the ball, he's just thumped Harrison for six.

But it has started to drizzle steadily and the players are coming off the field.

3.55pm
Lancashire 1st inns 214-6 (67 overs) Hurst 32 Bailey 11
Back under way after tea with a minimum of 38 overs to be bowled.

Whether we will get all of them in could be in doubt as it has gone darker and play is continuing with the floodlights on.

Calvin Harrison has bowled the first over after tea with Asitha Fernando ready to deliver the second.

3.30pm, TEA Day 3
Lancashire 1st inns 210-6 (66 overs) Hurst 30 Bailey 9
Matty Hurst has lofted leg spinner Calvin Harrison to mid on for four - his fourth boundary - and the 20-year-old has made an assured debut so far.

3.15pm
Lancashire 1st inns 197-6 (61 overs) Hurst 20 Bailey 8
Matty Hurst has punched a nice boundary through the covers off James while Tom Bailey has square driven Mullaney for four to get his innings off the mark.

It has gone quite cloudy in the last half hour, fingers crossed we don't see any showers over the latter part of the day.

3.00pm
Lancashire 1st inns 181-6 (54.2 overs) Hurst 8 Bailey 0
Matt Montgomery pulls off a nice grab at bat/pad off Calvin Harrison and that's the end of Steven Croft for 45 to end a 48-run partnership.

2.55pm
Lancashire 1st inns 162-5 (53 overs) Croft 32 Hurst 8
Spin for the first time in the match as leg spinner Calvin Harrison comes on to bowl.

Croft hit two contrasting boundaries in the last over from Lyndon James, edging through the vacant first slip position but then producing an authentic cover dive for the second.

2.40pm
Lancashire 1st inns 151-5 (49 overs) Croft 23 Hurst 6
Steven Croft and Matty Hurst are battling hard to steady the innings after the loss of those two quick wickets.

The master and the apprentice you might say - Matty was eighteen months old when Crofty made his first-team debut.......

2.09pm
Lancashire 1st inns 133-5 (42 overs) Croft 12 Hurst 0
George Balderson goes for 1, edging behind off Brett Hutton after the bowler gets one to bounce a bit more than the batter probably expected.

Debutant Matty Hurst makes his way to the crease.

1.55pm
Lancashire 1st inns 132-4 (38.3 overs) Croft 10 Balderson 0
George Bell's bright and breezy innings comes to an end on 26 after he is bowled by a full delivery from Fernando.

1.45pm
Lancashire 1st inns 128-3 (36 overs) Croft 10 Bell 24
Two authentic drives for four by George Bell and a first boundary by Steven Croft who drives Hutton through extra cover has given Lancashire just the start they would have wanted after lunch.

1.25pm
Lancashire 1st inns 110-3 (32 overs) Croft 2 Bell 14
A streaky four by George Bell, who inside edges past his off stump down to the fine leg boundary off Brett Hutton, gets the score moving in the first over of the afternoon.

It remains bright and sunny as we get this session under way.

12.40pm, LUNCH Day 3
Lancashire 1st inns 105-3 (31 overs) Croft 2 Bell 9
A morning of two halves I think it's fair to say.

Jennings and Wells opened with an excellent 84 run partnership after Lancs had been put into bat before Notts hit back by taking three wickets in quick succession.

George Bell has driven Steven Mullaney (2-20) for four to bring up the hundred and then bottom edges a wide delivery from the Notts skipper for four more.

12.14pm
Lancashire 1st inns 91-3 (24 overs) Croft 1 Bell 0
Wicketkeeper Tom Moores, standing up, takes a catch at the second attempt as Josh Bohannon nicks Stephen Mullaney behind to depart for 6.

That's two wickets for the Notts skipper and three wickets have gone for 7 runs in 3 overs. Quite a turnaround.

12.02pm
Lancashire 1st inns 88-2 (21.1 overs) Bohannon 4 Croft 0
Keaton Jennings goes for 42, lbw to Mullaney with the ball hitting the pads fractionally before the bat as Jennings played defensively. A close call with it going the way of the bowler.

11.55am
Lancashire 1st inns 84-1 (20.1 overs) Jennings 42 Bohannon 0
Luke Wells is bowled for 28 attempting to drive a full pitched ball from Fernando that knocks back his middle stump.

11.30am
Lancashire 1st inns 58-0 (15 overs) Wells 14 Jennings 34
This has been an excellent start by Keaton Jennings and Luke Wells after being put in to bat, the half century partnership arriving from 84 balls.

Wells has picked up a couple of boundaries in the last two overs, driving Paterson straight and pulling Fernando to midwicket.

11.15am, 10,000 RUNS FOR JENNINGS
Lancashire 1st inns 35-0 (11 overs) Wells 5 Jennings 21
Keaton Jennings has struck a couple of lovely boundaries, advancing down the wicket to pull Hutton to the midwicket boundary and the cutting Paterson to third man for another.

That has taken Keaton past the fantastic milestone of 10,000 first-class career runs!

11.00am
Lancashire 1st inns 23-0 (8 overs) Wells 4 Jennings 9
Notts have made an early bowling change with Fernando off after three slightly wayward overs and replaced by Dane Paterson.

10.40am
Lancashire 1st inns 12-0 (2 overs) Wells 0 Jennings 4
Play under way in bright sunshine, such a contrast after the last 48 hours!

Keaton Jennings gets the first runs off the bat, going onto his toes to punch Asitha Fernando through the covers for four.
