LIVE BLOG: Lancashire v Nottinghamshire, Day Two

LIVE BLOG: Lancashire v Nottinghamshire, Day Two

Latest news from the second day of the LV= County Championship match at Emirates Old Trafford.

Click 'refresh' to get the latest update.

12.30pm, PLAY ABANDONED
The recent downpour has left a saturated outfield and play has now been abandoned for the day.

12.00pm
The light drizzle has now got heavier and pools of water are starting to appear on the outfield after all the rain this morning.

10.30am
I'm afraid there is no better news since the last update as light drizzle continues to fall.

There will be no play before lunch which will be taken at 12.30pm.

Before this match Lancashire had lost 641 overs to rain/bad light in the Championship so far this season with 201 lost at home and 440 overs lost away.

Yesterday's washout has added 96 overs to that total with more to be added today unfortunately.

9.30am
The scene at Emirates Old Trafford is pretty much identical to the one 24 hours ago.

The covers - and the two blotters - haven't moved since play was called off yesterday, and we have another wet start this morning, albeit with a better forecast for this afternoon.

It is raining at present and we will update this page at regular intervals or when there is some news regarding prospects of play.

TEAM NEWS
Lancashire
Matty Hurst and Harry Singh have been included in their first LV= Insurance County Championship squad, whilst seamer Jack Blatherwick returns following a knee injury that kept him out of last week's clash with Middlesex. Jack Morley also returns to squad and Danny Lamb is once again included in order to provide seam-bowling cover.

Phil Salt, Tom Hartley and Luke Wood are unavailable having joined up with England ahead of their three-match ODI series with Ireland, which gets underway on Wednesday. Seamers Tom Aspinwall and Saqib Mahmood remain sidelined with back injuries.

Nottinghamshire
Our visitors make one change to their squad from last week’s match against Kent with off spinner Matt Carter added to the squad in place of Liam Patterson-White.
