Can I watch on my Smart TV?
LancsTV isn’t available as a downloadable app on Smart TVs, but you can still watch it on your television in two easy ways – either using your TV’s web browser or by “casting” it from your mobile phone or tablet. Don’t worry – you can’t break anything, and if casting doesn’t work for you, there’s a simple alternative using a cable.
Option 1: Use your Smart TV’s built-in browser
If your Smart TV has a web browser (an app you can use to go online), you can watch directly on your TV:
Steps:
- On your TV remote, open the web browser app.
- In the address bar, type: www.lancstv.co.uk
- Login with your LancsTV account details.
- Choose the video you want to watch – it will play just like it does on your phone, tablet or laptop.
Tips:
- This works best on newer Smart TVs (2018 onwards).
- Some older TV browsers may not play videos smoothly – if that happens, try Option 2 below.
Option 2: Cast from your phone or tablet to your TV
This is where you play the video on your phone or tablet and send it to your TV screen wirelessly. This works if your phone and TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi.
If you’re using an iPhone or iPad:
- Make sure your iPhone/iPad and TV (or Apple TV) are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open Safari (or your usual internet app) and go to www.lancstv.co.uk.
- Login and start playing the video.
- Swipe down from the top-right of your screen to open Control Centre.
- Tap Screen Mirroring, then choose your TV or Apple TV from the list.
If you’re using an Android phone or tablet:
- Make sure your phone and TV (or Chromecast) are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open Chrome (or the internet app you normally use) and go to www.lancstv.co.uk.
- Login and start playing the video.
- Swipe down from the top of your screen to open the quick settings menu.
- Tap Cast, Smart View, or Screen Mirroring – the wording might be slightly different depending on your device.
- Choose your TV from the list to start casting.
Still not working?
Make sure your phone or tablet and your TV are on the same Wi-Fi network. If your device isn’t showing up, restarting both your phone and your TV often helps.
If devices aren’t cooperating, the simplest method is to plug your laptop into your TV using a HDMI cable. This is a reliable and easy way to get the stream on your big screen.
What are the system requirements?
Your device needs to comply with the following minimum system requirements: Processor: 2.33GHz or faster x86-compatible processor, or Intel® Atom™ 1.6GHz or faster processor for netbooks; Memory: 2GB (1GB for netbooks) 128MB of graphics memory. Operating Systems: Windows 8.1 or later, Mac 9+ Browsers: latest versions of Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari *Internet Explorer and Opera are not supported for Live Video 512MB of RAM (1GB of RAM recommended for netbooks) Mobiles & Tablets Operating Systems: Android 6+, iOS 9+ *some OS may still not be supported by manufacturer.
What are the internet connection requirements?
You will require a Wi-Fi or broadband internet connection (DSL/cable or higher) with a minimum download speed of at least 1.2mbps with latency not exceeding 100ms for SD and 4mbps with latency not exceeding 50ms for HD (mobile data may not be supported). For users travelling abroad, please use a Wi-Fi network or broadband connection.
I’m having issues with my video or audio feed. What can I do?
During the game, please report your technical issues to [email protected], who can investigate whether there is a problem with the broadcast. If there are no issues at the broadcast end, we will need to complete troubleshooting steps, these may involve confirming details about the device, software and your internet connection.
Please note: It’s your responsibility to ensure you’re using compatible technology before accessing the live stream. You don’t need to pay or be a member to watch LancsTV. You just need to create a free account.
Can I watch LancsTV outside the UK?
Yes, in most cases. If you’re travelling abroad, we recommend using Wi-Fi rather than mobile data. Some content may be geo-restricted due to broadcasting rights in certain regions.
