Player Profile

25-year-old Salt joins from Sussex – where he has played since 2015 – and earned a reputation as one of world cricket’s most fearless ball-strikers.

Salt, who has a strike rate of over 150 in T20 cricket, has played in franchise leagues around the world including the Big Bash, Pakistan Super League and Caribbean Premier League.

After being included in several England’s white ball squads since 2019, he made his long-awaited international debut earlier this summer in the ODI series against Pakistan. Salt once again caught the headlines with his ruthless approach, striking 60 from 54 balls in his second match, followed by 37 from just 22 in the third.

The gloveman - born in Wales grew up in Manchester before moving to Barbados aged 10 – averaged 36 opening the batting for Sussex last year in First-Cricket and has four red ball centuries to his name.

2019 was his most productive summer so far, scoring two County Championship centuries and finishing as leading run-scorer in the Vitality Blast.
