Lancashire Second XI draw with Notts at Lady Bay
Lancashire Second XI last week drew a two-day friendly clash against Nottinghamshire at Lady Bay Cricket Club.
The Red Rose won the toss and elected to bowl first. Notts put on 56 for the opening wicket before Danny Lamb made the first breakthrough. Three overs later George Burrows dismissed Lyndon James before Joey Evison was run out shortly after to leave the hosts 80/3.
Jack Morley took Lancashire's fourth wicket dismissing opener Chris Gibson for 62 but Kashif Ali and Matt Carter put on an unbeaten partnership worth 104 for their fifth wicket. Notts declared on 222/4 from 65 overs.
In reply, Lancashire lost the early wicket of JJ Fielding for 10 in the sixth over. Owais Shah top scored with 25 with George Lavelle (15*) and Danny Lamb (21*) unbeaten at the end of the first day.
On the second day, it was agreed that a new game would be started with Lancashire scheduled to bat for 65 overs and Notts 35.

Owais Shah and JJ Fielding batted superbly and shared a 163-run stand for the first wicket. The pair had reached 151-0 at the lunch interval, and it would take a further five overs to dislodge Shah, caught at mid-on off Zak Chappell for 67.
Evison removed George Lavelle without scoring, but Fielding continued on his way reaching 116 before being dismissed by Gibson.
Lancashire finished on 209/4 after 65 overs. Danny Lamb (42) and Stephen Parry (23) added useful middle order runs for the Red Rose.
In reply, Notts closed on 144/8.
